The Saskatchewan Roughriders are turning halftime into a headline act this summer. The Riders are teaming up with Pepsi to bring three Canadian artists to Mosaic Stadium for the Pepsi Summer Concert Series. The series will feature performances by rising artist JIMI, country group Doc Walker and pop-punk band Faber Drive during select home games —adding live music to the game-day experience. The concerts will take place in the south end zone, where fans can gather for a closer view of the performances. JIMI will kick off the series June 26 during the Prairie Blizzard, presented by Brandt. The emerging Canadian artist blends rock, country and blues and has built a growing following with more than 600,000 followers and millions of views online. She has toured Western Canada with Cameron Whitcomb and collaborated with Bryan Adams. Doc Walker is set to perform July 23 during Camp Riderville, presented by NexGen. The Manitoba-based band, formed in the early 1990s, has earned 21 Top 10 singles on Canadian Country Music Association awards and a JUNO Award. Known for songs such as “Rocket Girl” and “Beautiful Life”, the group continues to tour across Canada. Faber Drive will close out the series Sept. 6 during the 61st Labour Day Classic, presented by The Mosaic Company. The JUNO-nominated band rose to prominence with its debut album Seven Second Surgery and has released several Top 10 hits, including When I’m With You and Tongue Tied. The band has toured with artists such as Nickelback, Simple Plan, Sum 41 and Billy Talent. The series is designed to enhance the fan experience by combining football and live Canadian music during three key summer matchups.
