A 16-year-old has been charged after allegedly threatening a school in north Regina. According to the Regina Police Service (RPS), a student made comments about bringing a gun to a school located in the 5700 block of Rochdale Boulevard. These comments were then reported to police at around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday. Officers launched an investigation and were able to both identify and find the suspect who was arrested without incident that same day. The 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to the protections of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with one count of uttering threats. The accused made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Youth Court at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Additionally, a 38-year-old man, who also cannot be identified, is charged with carless storage of a firearm. He is set to make his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on June 17.
