Two teens are facing criminal charges after a serious assault over the weekend.

On Saturday, March 28, around 9:55 p.m., police were called to the 1600 block of Rae Street for a reported assault. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed and bear sprayed.

He was taken to hospital by paramedics with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. With the assistance of the Canine Unit, officers located two suspects a short time later in the 2600 block of Dewdney Avenue.

Both suspects, aged 18 and 17, face charges of assault causing bodily harm, while the 18-year-old is also charged with failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.
