Lumsden RCMP have arrested a 47-year-old male following the theft of a truck, trailer, and skid-steer in the Grand Coulee and Pense district. White Butte RCMP received a report on Nov. 13 at 3:30 p.m. regarding a theft of a truck and trailer carrying a skid-steer from a rural property near Grand Coulee and Pense. Officers, assisted by Regina Police Service (RPS) aerial unit, spotted the stolen vehicle northbound on Highway 641 near Lumsden. A traffic stop was attempted, but the truck fled toward Lumsden. Officers deployed a tire deflation device near Lumsden, which successfully punctured the tires on the stolen truck and trailer. The vehicle continued into the Town of Lumsden before stopping. The driver fled on foot but was arrested by Lumsden RCMP. The man is facing multiple charges, including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, operation while prohibited, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, resisting a peace officer, and flight from police He made an appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Nov. 14. White Butte and Lumsden RCMP continue to investigate.
