Saskatchewan RCMP are investigating a bovine-related homicide near the community of Ponteix. According to police, on Nov. 4 at around 7:45 p.m., Ponteix RCMP received a report that a cow had been shot at a rural property near the community, located 275 kilometres southwest of Regina. The cow later died. Additionally, Ponteix RCMP are investigating the shooting death of a cow at a different rural property near the community on July 7. The investigation, which includes determining whether the cows were targeted or mistakenly shot, continues. Saskatchewan RCMP says there is no indication that the two incidents are related.
