It was a day of celebration as the Saskatchewan Roughriders paraded through Regina as the 2025 Grey Cup champions. The Green Mile definitely lived up to its name as hundreds of Roughrider faithful lined the 1.6-kilometre stretch of Albert Street in the heart of the city. A convoy of vehicles from the Canadian Armed Forces ferried the victors all the way to the steps of the Saskatchewan Legislative Building. Head coach Corey Mace was among the first to speak. “When we first came to Saskatchewan, we knew it was gonna be crazy but this is something else,” he said, addressing a sea of green and white. Mace began thanking everyone in the Roughriders’ organization, from the ticket office to the equipment staff. “There’s so much that goes into this. So many thank yous to go around, everybody in the Riders organization. From the fourth floor, to the equipment guys, Gordie, Ty. To the ticket office, everybody. Much love, the trainers. Much love, the coaches. Let me tell you guys something right now, you have the hardest working coaching staff in the entire league,” he said. “And lastly, and most importantly, how about your [expletive] Saskatchewan Roughriders!” he proclaimed. Looking ahead, Mace promised that the Roughriders’ recent victory is only the beginning of good things to come. “They keep talking about how there was only four championships in Riders’ history. Hey, we got five right now and we ain’t willing to stop baby. Let’s keep it rolling.” Sunday’s 112th Grey Cup saw the Saskatchewan Roughriders defeat the Montreal Alouettes 25-17. The victory marks the franchise’s fifth ever Grey Cup win after victories in 1966, 1989, 2007 and 2013.
