Regina police have charged a man with first degree murder in connection to the death of a 35-year-old man who was found near Grand Coulee, Sask. Following an investigation, Regina police charged 24-year-old Britain Volk with first-degree murder. Volk was arrested shortly before 8 p.m. on July 1, on the 1500 block of Elphinstone Street, Regina police said. On June 10 RCMP were called to a rural area near Grand Coulee for the report of a deceased person who has since been identified as Aron Lunan. Through continued investigation, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes and Regina police Major Crimes determined the case originated within the city of Regina, a Regina police news release said. That resulted in Regina police taking over the investigation from RCMP. Volk makes his first court appearance in Regina Thursday morning, the release said. Grand Coulee, Sask. is located approximately 12 kilometres west of Regina.
