Several temperature records across southeast and east central Saskatchewan were shattered over the weekend – as springtime conditions continue to warm across the province. Saturday, May 10 saw temperature records for three separate communities be upended. In the southeast corner, hotspots included the areas surrounding Coronach and Estevan. Coronach’s former record of 28.3 C was set in 1977. Saturday saw thermometers reach 31 C in the area. The gap was even larger in Estevan, with the 28.3 C record (also set in 1977) being beaten by a daily high of 32.9 C. Finally, the Yorkton area recorded a similar margin, with its 1977 record of 27.4 C broken with 29.5 C.
