Nicki Minajs husband Kenneth Petty has pleaded guilty for failure to register as a sex offender in the state of California after being convicted of attempted rape.

In new court documents filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court in Central District of California and obtained by Billboard, Petty withdrew his initial not guilty plea to the single-count indictment and changed his plea to guilty.

Petty was charged after he was arrested at a traffic stop in Beverly Hills in 2019 and police discovered he had not registered as a sex offender in the state when he moved there from New York three years prior. The filing also notes that Petty acknowledged in documents he signed that he was required to notify New York of a change of address if and when he moved to another state and it was his responsibility to follow all laws regarding registration as a sex offender.

In March 2020, the 43-year-old Petty registered with the California Megans Law database, which tracks local sex offenders in California, where he and Minaj currently live with their infant son, and had his charges dropped by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office. But he still faced federal charges from the Department of Justice -- which this plea deal addresses. Petty is now scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 24, 2022.

The New York State department labels Petty as a level-two sex offender, which deems him of having a moderate risk of a repeat offense, after he was convicted of attempted rape in the first degree in 1994.

United States attorney Tracy L. Wilkison and assistant U.S. attorney Sarah E. Gerdes represented the U.S. Attorneys Office for the Central District of California, while Michael A. Goldstein, Hagop Kuyumjian and Meghan A. Blanco were the attorneys for Petty.

Last month, Jennifer Hough, the woman who accused Petty of rape in 1994, filed a lawsuit against Minaj and Petty, accusing the couple of witness intimidation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, harassment, assault, battery, sexual assault, and sexual harassment.

Minaj announced on Thursday that she was pulling out from performing at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards. I just pulled out. I’ll explain why another day. But I love those guys at MTV. thank you Bruce. I love you so much. Next year we there baby, she tweeted in response to an inquiring fan.

In a preview of her upcoming interview with CBS Sunday Morning, the 28-year-old singer touches on the her past substance abuse and how shes learning to take back control over her life.

The doctors told me that I had five to 10 minutes, Lovato tells CBS Tracy Smith, recalling her near-fatal overdose. Like, if no one had found me, then I wouldnt be here. And Im grateful that Im sitting here today.

The singer also opened up about the progress shes made in dealing with her substance abuse issues since last appearing on CBS Sunday Morning in 2016.

I was probably 24 when we did the interview, Lovato says. Im in recovery for a bunch of things and I had been sober for how many years, but Im still miserable. For the first time in my life, I had to essentially die to wake up.

Lovatos CBS Sunday Morning interview -- which airs March 21 at 9 a.m. ET -- arrives ahead of the singers four-part documentary series, Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil, premiering March 23 on YouTube.

The tell-all docuseries explores Lovatos devastating overdose, which left her with three strokes and a heart attack, as well as blind spots in her vision that block her from driving.

I didnt control any of my life at that period of time, Lovato tells CBS Sunday Morning. But, yes, I also needed to grow up and take control. And thats something I havent done until the past two years of my life, which is [why] Im now in control of my finances. Im now in control of … the food that I eat, how often I work out.

In addition to her upcoming YouTube docuseries, Lovato is also releasing a companion album, Dancing With the Devil… The Art of Starting Over, on April 2. She announced that her new single Dancing With The Devil will arrive on March 26.

A Saskatchewan couple awoke Thursday to a big surprise after a TikTok of their daughter went viral overnight, capturing the attention of pop star Halsey.

Bella, 7, and her parents Kyla and Lyle Thomson live on an acreage near Swift Current, Sask. A video of Bella drawing on TikTok has gained 9.5 million views since it was posted on Wednesday afternoon.

Kyla had turned off her notifications on her phone before heading to bed on Wednesday only to awake to find she had a message from Halsey. It was Bella’s love for art and song that captured celebrity attention.

“She said ‘I saw your daughter’s video on TikTok and I started watching your Instagram videos,’” Kyla told CTV News about the message from the U.S. singer. “She said Bella’s love for music and art really touched her, and that she wanted to send Bella a care package.”

Bella was born with cartilage-hair hypoplasia (CHH) - a genetic condition that may be the cause of a small stature. She also has severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) and a condition that has her on the list for a bowel transplant.

Kyla told CTV News that despite all of her hardships, Bella continues to find joy in music and art.

“We just want to help others get through hard times,” Kyla said.

Bella’s medical journey has been documented by her parents on Instagram @kylact

Kesha and Demi Lovato are 2021s UFO-summoning dream team.

The High Road singer told ET on Thursday (Jan. 14) that her chat with Lovato for her podcast, Kesha and the Creepies, inspired an unusual new hobby. I loved the conversation we had because... there were a couple books she mentioned and an app she mentioned that I immediately downloaded, Kesha explained. ... [I told my family,] All I want for Christmas is for us all to meditate and try to channel extraterrestrials. And theyre like, OK.

Im like trying to get all my friends and family into meditating the aliens to us. Its my new hobby because of Demi Lovato, she continued.

In their conversation, which you can see a snippet of here, Lovato recalled her time in Joshua Tree, California (known for its frequent UFO sightings) with Dr. Steven Greer, one of the world’s foremost authority figures regarding Extraterrestrial Intelligence, according to his Instagram bio.

What happened was we saw this really, really bright light. First of all, this blue orb kept floating in front of us, like 20 or 30 feet away, the Sorry Not Sorry singer said, holding her phone up to the screen to show the luminous orb they saw. When I would try to walk up to it, it would just hop another 20-30 feet back. So I could never chase it or get to it, but I was trying.

Lovato also shared her interest in extraterrestrial life back in October, with a series of photos of the unusual orbs posted to Instagram. The past few days I’ve spent in Joshua Tree with a small group of loved ones and @dr.steven.greer and his CE5 team, she wrote. Over the past couple months I have dug deep into the science of consciousness and experienced not only peace and serenity like I’ve never known but I also have witnessed the most incredibly profound sightings both in the sky as well as feet away from me. This planet is on a very negative path towards destruction but WE can change that together. If we were to get 1 of the population to meditate and make contact, we would force our governments to acknowledge the truth about extraterrestrial life among us and change our destructive habits destroying our planet. This is just some of the evidence from under the stars in the desert sky that can no longer be ignored and must be shared immediately.
